Making Title Page
 

Click on paint can tool. (Tools are in the tool bar on the left side of the page.) Click color of choice on palette. (left side of page) Click on choice of pattern on option tray (Option tray is at the bottom of the page.) Place paint can in center of screen. Click mouse.

Click on “A” text tool. Click on color of choice on palette. Click and drag letters up to screen. Click mouse to drop letter. Spell “KIDPIX PROJECT”.

Click on typewriter tool. Click on color of choice. Choose font from option tray below. Place cursor on screen. Type “This is fun. By (your name)”

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to SAVE A PICTURE. Save picture as “(your initials)title”. Click SAVE.
 

 

Math 1 - Venn Diagram
Use Menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.
Click on circle tool and color palette (use black). Choose closed circle from the option tray (3rd from left). Draw 1 circle. Draw a second interlocking circle. The circles should fill the page.

Click on paint can tool, color palette, and option tray to paint the background.

Click on stamp tool. Use menu GOODIES to “PICK A STAMP SET”. Choose a set with animals by clicking on the strip. Click OK.

Place two animals that eat only plants in the left circle. Place two animals that eat only animals in the right circle. Place one or two animals that eat both plants and animals in the intersection of the circles. Choose stamp you wish to use by clicking on it and dragging it onto the screen. Click the mouse to drop the stamp.

Outside the circles, choose one stamp to create a large, larger and largest diagram of any stamp. Use the Option, Shift, and Option-Shift to get different sizes.

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to SAVE A PICTURE. Save picture as “(your initials)math1”. Click SAVE.

 


Math 2 - Create a Sum
 

Use Menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.

Click on typewriter tool (select color and font) and label the page “Making the Number 17” at the top.

Click on wacky paintbrush tool. Select die stamp from option trap. Stamp 10 die at top of page. Select number ball stamp from option tray. Stamp 10 number balls at top of screen.

Use the move tool (select size from option tray) to move die or number balls to the bottom of the page. The combination of both should equal 17.

Click on “A” text tool. Scroll to symbols. Add symbols (+, -, /, *, =) to make the statement true. Add 17 at the end of the mathematical statement.

 
 

Continue creating mathematical statements until you have used up as many of your die and number balls as possible in combinations equal to 17.

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to SAVE A PICTURE. Save picture as “(your initials)math2”. Click SAVE.


Science 1 - Weather Chart
 

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.

Click on rectangle tool. Choose open rectangle from option tray (3rd from left). Hold down mouse button and drag to draw a large rectangle on the screen.

Click on line tool. Divide the rectangle into 6 sections. (Holding the shift key down while using the line tool will make all lines perfectly straight.)
 
 
MONDAY
 
 
 
 
Click on the typewriter tool and choose a font from the option tray. Click on color of choice. Move the cursor to each box on the chart you created and enter the words “Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday” in respective boxes.

Use the GOODIES menu to “Pick a Stamp Set”. Choose a set that has weather symbols in it. Click OK. Place stamps in the weather chart. You may need to use several stamp sets to get a variety of symbols for Monday - Thursday. Use the Wacky Paintbrush to find symbols for Friday and Saturday.

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to SAVE A PICTURE. Save picture as “(your initials)sci1”. Click SAVE.
 


Science 2 - Creating a Pictograph
 

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.

Click on line tool. Select color with color palette. Select line thickness in option tray. Draw a vertical line along the left side of your page. Draw a horizontal line along the bottom of the page.
 

 
 Click on the “A” text tool. Use the numbers to label the y-axis (vertical) from 0 - 5.

Click on the wacky paintbrush tool.  Select the bug stamp from the option tray. Click 15 bugs on the top of your page.

Click on the move tool. Choose move size from the option tray (3rd from left is a great choice). Move bugs into columns of like objects.

Click on the move tool. Choose the lasso from the option tray. Draw around the top bug in column one. (Hold the mouse down while you outline the object.) When the mouse is released you should see the “dancing ants.” Use menu EDIT to COPY. Use menu EDIT to PASTE. (An identical bug should appear on your page.) Move the newly made bug to the x-axis in the appropriate place. Repeat with each column.

Label your pictograph using the typewriter tool. (Select color and font)

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to SAVE A PICTURE. Save picture as “(your initials)sci2”. Click SAVE.

 
 

Science 3 - Creating a Bar Graph

The pictograph that you created needs to still be on the screen. If it is not, go to menu FILE and OPEN A PICTURE. Locate “(your initials)sci2” and click on OPEN.

Click on rectangle tool. Select solid box from the option tray. Choose a color that matches the color of the bugs in column one of your pictograph. Draw a rectangle by holding down the mouse and dragging over the column of bugs. The rectangle you draw should hide the bug column completely and match the correct number on the y-axis (vertical).

Repeat with each column of bugs. Click on eraser tool. Erase the pictograph title

Use typewriter tool to label the bar graph.

Use menu FILE to SAVE A PICTURE. Rename the picture “(your initials)sci3”. Click SAVE. IF YOU DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME, YOU WILL SAVE OVER YOUR ORIGINAL PICTOGRAPH!!!!!

  
 
Social Studies 1 - Mapping an Island
 

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.

Use wacky pencil tool to draw the shape of an island. Select color from the palette and width from the option tray below.

Use stamp tool to add features to the island (trees, animals, camps, people). Combine the stamps and the typewriter text to make a legend for the stamps.

Use menu FILE to save as “(your initials)soc1”. Click SAVE.
 

 

Social Studies 2 - Street/School Map

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.

Click on line tool. Select color and thickness. Draw the 3 major street or roads surrounding the school.

Click on typewriter tool to label the streets and major landmarks, including your school.

Click on stamp tool. Use menu Goodies to Pick a Stamp Set. Select a stamp set that has appropriate symbols to label the map.

Create a key to identify what the stamps represent.

Use menu FILE to save as “(your initials)soc2”. Click SAVE.


Language Arts 1
 

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.

Draw a picture of something that happened this morning, not using stamps. Click on typewriter tool to add at least two sentences to describe the scene.

Use the GOODIES menu to Record Sound. Click on the Record button and read your sentences and describe the story in more detail. Click on the Stop button when you are finished. Click OK.

Use menu FILE to save as “(your initials)lan1”. Click SAVE.
 
 

 
 
 

Language Arts 2
 

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to NEW.

Use GOODIES to Pick a DRAW ME. Four segments of a sentence should be read to you. (If not, you may need to click on your mouse to get it started.)
 

Use wacky pencil tool and/or stamp tool to illustrate the sentence. Use typewriter tool to add your own sentence about the drawing.

Use the GOODIES menu to Play Sound. Then use Record Sound to record the final version of the sentences (story) you wrote.

Use menu FILE. Pull down menu to SAVE A PICTURE. Save picture as “(your initials)lan2”. Click SAVE.
