Keyboarding Practice Online (Students should use these sites only after they have been practicing  for a while and the teacher wants a variety of activities.) Fun School (This game has a vast number of skill levels. Students can choose from three different interfaces, and adjust the speed and the number of letters.) Typing Practice (This site has the ability to practice improving speed and accuracy while being able to adjust and build to more difficult combinations and timing practice. A student might start with just a letter at a time, then select two, three, four, and even five letter words as well as numbers as their confidence and skill increases. A student can also select different time segments, ranging from 15 seconds to 1 minute. Internet Explorer is recommended for this site.You can also download this site to use later when offline. Touch Typing (This site offers a free program that can be used online or downloaded for practice of letters or text that you want to copy in from another source.)

Keyboarding SoftwareBelow are sites of software programs we have reviewed that support our philosophy for teaching keyboarding. We do not believe a keyboarding program needs to be purchased  in order for students be successful with keyboarding.  These could be used, however, to work on speed and accuracy after the initial training is completed. Read, Write,Type This software builds phonics, keyboard, and writing skills for K-2 students. All the Right Type This software demonstrates correct posture and fingering position along  with practice words and sentences. Type to Learn This software will provide practice words and sentences.
