Situated in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Ralston Valley High School is home to 1650 students and 120 staff. RVHS opened in the Fall of 2000 and graduated its first class in the Spring of 2002.

A member of the Jefferson County Public School District, RVHS is committed to providing "a safe learning environment where students develop a desire to learn and are supported in their efforts to take full advantage of their educational opportunities and to become productive citizens."

Fundamental to the Ralston Valley mission is the belief that school should be a place of learning. It is therefore essential that the school climate should foster learning, and that high academic standards be clearly articulated.

Thanks to a dedicated staff, a committed student body, and a supportive community, this belief is being put into practice. As a result of the hard work of staff and students, Ralston Valley High School is a learning community. The statistical evidence is CSAP scores and School Performance Rankings that place Ralston Valley among the highest scoring high schools in Jefferson County. Congratulations to the students and staff of Ralston Valley for receiving an "EXCELLENT " rating for the 2004-2005, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 CDE School Accountability Report.

High expectations are not exclusive to academic pursuits at RVHS. "Oh, that my mind were that of a scholar, but let my soul breathe and be filled with the imagination and creativity of the artist."

Imagination and creativity are fostered and nurtured in programs that range from the performing arts to technical arts. The strength of these programs is evidenced by the number of students who are involved and by the quality of what they accomplish.

If its true that all work and no play makes one dull, then it should be obvious that Ralston Valley students are anything but dull. For they play! They play hard, and they play well.

Ralston Valley High School students participate in ten girls' sports and eleven boys' sports throughout the year. In addition, Cheer and Pom squads represent RVHS at athletic and school events, and participate in local and state competitions.

Since the inaugural season in the fall of 2000, Ralston Valley athletic teams have won 58 and counting Jeffco League Championships, nine team State Championships: Girls' Softball, 2002, 2007; Boys' Basketball, 2003; Co-Ed Cheers, 2003 and 2006; Poms, 2004; Girls' Swimming and Diving, 2007 and 2008; and Baseball, 2008; and 15 individual State Championships.

Ralston Valley students are to be congratulated for their participation and success in athletics, and for their fan support of their classmates.
