CB is the original MCHS program
and has successfully met the educational needs of thousands of
adult Jeffco students during the last three decades! CB is an
open entry/ open exit program with structured classes as well
as academic learning labs for independent study. A wide range
of courses, designed with the interest of the adult learner in
mind and meeting Jeffco's high school graduation requirements,
are offered on a near continual basis.
CB provides a comfortable, non-judgmental environment where
adult students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds have the
opportunity to succeed. Students pursue educational and personal
growth through creative, individualized curriculum implemented
by a competent, innovative and caring staff. CB strives to equip
students with skills and knowledge to enhance the quality of life
while promoting a continuing desire to learn.
The CB program is competency-based, meaning that students must
demonstrate mastery of subjects and skills prior to earning credit
and advancing. A Jeffco High School diploma is earned upon completion
of 22 credits. CB offers adult students 18 - 80 years of age a
supportive environment, opportunities for GED test preparation,
work and "life experience" elective credit, and individualized
and flexible scheduling.
To meet the needs of all adult students, Project Literacy provides
one-to-one tutoring for adults needing improved reading, writing,
and math skills.

and will be assigned to work with an EH instructor.
The EH lab can assist in all areas of educational need.
VOLUNTEER TUTORING SERVICE
Some students find they need additional help with their lab and

students. Students wanting to work with a tutor for at least 2
hours weekly should check with an advisor or an instructor in
the lab for which they need help. Requests will then be referred
to the volunteer coordinator.
Students requesting a tutor will be expected to maintain a prompt
and consistent schedule. The volunteer coordinator will arrange
meeting times, depending on the schedule of the volunteer and
the student. Students with reading levels below 6th grade may
be assigned a tutor prior to enrollment. After the student has
raised the reading level to 6th grade, the student will be enrolled
officially.
