District To Conduct Biennial Student Survey
The district will conduct its biennial Make Your Voice Heard survey for students in December to give students an opportunity to provide feedback that helps set the direction for high achieving, safe, caring school environments. The survey will be administered to students in grades 2-12. The surveys are voluntary and ask various questions about learning, safety, teachers, and other areas that are specifically tailored for students in grades 2-3, 4-6, middle school, and high school. Surveys will be given the week of Nov. 30-Dec. 4 or Dec. 7-11.
Survey results are used for school and district decision-making purposes, including reporting for the district strategic plan and school improvement plans. Data is compiled and shared with school and district leaders, as well as parents and the community.
Facilities Usage and DRHS Area Schools
Dear Dakota Ridge Community,
We wanted to share some information with you about a process that may have an impact on your child’s school. Over the next two years, the district is faced with having to make significant budget reductions - $35-$40 million. As a way to reduce costs, the district convened a Facilities Usage Committee to look at ways to use buildings more efficiently....
There are currently 45 different options; some are mutually exclusive and not all could be implemented. For every million dollars reduced, up to 20 teaching jobs could be saved. Here are the proposed options for the Dakota Ridge area. Read full letter ...

New Early Dismissal Line
Due to the flu season we have been overwhelmed with phone calls. Trying to make our system work effectively we have added a new early dismissal line. It is 303-982-1911. This is in addition to our regular attendance line, 303-982-1884. To ensure that your student is released on time, please give the early dismissal line at least 1 hours notice prior to the dismissal time. Click here for details on the appropriate use for each line when calling in an absence for your child.
Lockheed Martin Tutoring
This year professionals from Lockheed
Martin will be available every Tuesday, Wednesday, AND Thursday
evening from 6:30-8:00 PM to tutor DRHS students for FREE. Thursday,
September 10th will be the first night of tutoring in the Counseling

textbooks, and take advantage of this great resource! See Mrs.
Mattson in the Counseling Office with any questions. Here is
the flyer
with complete information.
